Capacity Building Support

Capacity Building Support is offered by the Friday Institue as face-to-face and virtual professional development opportunities focused on micro credentials and personalized learning. These sessions (Fall 2018 and Spring 2019) will provide hands-on, job-embedded use and implementation strategies to equip you and your team to lead this transition.

Each Capacity Building opportunity is broken into two parts and offered both physically at the Friday Institute and virtually using the ZOOM platform. We highly recommend that participants make every attempt to attend the face-to-face sessions for a complete experience.

Sessions are a full day, and participants should plan to attend part one and part two. Team members and/or lead teachers should attend the same sessions to promote collaboration.

Micro-Credentials Sessions

As schools/districts shift to providing a more personalized learning experience for their students they are also being increasingly asked to provide the same type of experience for their educators. Micro-credentials are one strategy that schools and district leaders are using to meet this need.

Personalized Learning Sessions

When applied correctly, personalized learning can move mountains for students. It means that assignments and instruction are tailored to individual students' interests, needs, and skills. It allows the teacher to bring in more robust, useful, and varied material into the classroom.
