Updating State Policies

Modify and update State policies to provide the support and flexibility necessary for local digital learning innovation.

School districts have flexibility on how to implement their digital learning efforts. Districts have between zero and six policies related to digital learning, and nearly three-quarters of districts explicitly incorporate digital learning into their strategic plan. The NC Digital Learning plan recommends that schools should have both an instructional technology facilitator and school library media coordinator; however, only ⅕ have both of these positions. Most schools have a digital teaching and learning decision making structure and most districts implement programs to sustain their technology programs.
