Infrastructure Maintenance and Support

Develop infrastructure maintenance and support protocols.

To support digital teaching and learning, schools and districts need sufficient personnel and infrastructure. Over half of school districts have at least a technology director, and most have at least one district-level technology specialist; however, 14 school districts have zero full-time dedicated digital technology specialists and the technicians who support the schools are responsible for thousands of devices each. Laptops and tablets are used about equally in the 41 percent of schools that provide devices to students. Most schools have sufficient internet access speeds.
